This framing of AI tools as the next abstraction layer (alongside punch cards → assembly → C → Python) is brillant. The historical patern of each abstraction spawning exponentially more software rather than fewer jobs makes the 'software abundance' argument feel inevitable. I've been playing around with Cursor recently and that constraint shift you mention from 'writing code' to 'knowing what to build' is absolutely real. What's underrated here is how Cognition built products first, models last.
